Marketing Campaign: Income and Employment Support Act (Government of Newfoundland and Labrador)
In 2001 the Department of Human Resources and Employment, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, embarked on revising its social assistance legislation. The legislation had not been updated since 1977.
Paul led a two year marketing and awareness campaign as the new legislation was drafted to support the department's evolving employment, labour and career services in addition to the existing income support program.
The campaign included a provincial public consultation process supported by the release of a discussion/workbook document entitled Investing in People: new Directions for Social Assistance Legislation. Further activities for the campaign included reporting on the outcomes of that consultation, along with the introduction and passing of the legislation in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.
